Between Beach Bums’ Green Transport Rentals and the Island Trolley System, you can enjoy your Anna Maria experience without ever using a car! Anna Maria Island is a very bike friendly place and it is often said that the best way to travel Anna Maria is by pedal power. Many of the local roads have bike paths and local shops and restaurants have racks in front to store bikes. Each of our bike rentals come with a lock, basket, helmet and light for easy travels.
If you feel like biking is too much work for vacation, use our street legal golf carts or electric bikes as your Island transport.
Anna Maria Island Offers a FREE Trolley Service in the Cities of Anna Maria, Holmes Beach and Bradenton Beach
From the Anna Maria Pier on the north end of Anna Maria south to Coquina Beach, located in Bradenton beach, the Manatee Trolley provides FREE transportation for shopping, dining, beachcombing and sightseeing . Anna Maria Island’s trolleys offer both air-conditioned as well as open-air seating, ensuring a comfortable ride for guests. The trolley has wheelchair lifts and a rack that can hold two bicycles.
Anna Maria Island’s trolley service runs every 20 minutes daily; from 6 a.m. - 10:30 p.m. Trolley stops are marked by a green sign with a picture of a trolley and are usually located every 2-4 blocks along the route. The majority of trolley stops have covered seating so guests may wait in a comfortable shaded area.

Want to bicycle around some of Bradenton’s attractions but don’t feel like pedaling the entire way? The trolley Connects with Manatee County Area Transit’s 11 routes serving Manatee County at the Manatee County Public Beach. Whether you are a tired rider or one wishing to have an adventure, the bus has a rack that holds two bikes. So, you can always take your Beach Bums’ bikes with you!
If you would like to travel to Longboat Key or Sarasota, hop on the Longboat Key Trolley from Coquina Beach, drop three quarters in the can, throw your bikes on the front and head south! The Longboat Trolley stops at some fantastic locations, such as St Armands Circle, Moat Aquarium and downtown Sarasota. The Longboat Trolley offers daily service from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. every 30 minutes.
